Operations in JSNP® Search

1. Outline of Search

The JSNP Search allows the user to search using either information about polymorphism itself or information regarding genes and gene loci. The JSNP Search also allows for viewing the lists of gene symbol, a drug-metabolizing enzyme, or different sequence regions by aligning the screened sequences to the NCBI RefSeq human genome contigs.

Major functions include:

Function	Description
Integrated Map Browser	User interface for graphical displaying the annotations on the RefSeq Contig and searching them
Search by Gene	User interface for searching and displaying the genes and associated polymorphisms
Keyword search	User interface for searching for any polymorphisms and/or any associated features
SNPs in DMEs	Interface for browsing the list of SNPs in the genes encoding drug-metabolizing enzymes and drug transporters provided by the Laboratory for Genotyping, the SNP Research Center, the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN)
Sequence differences List	Interface for browsing the list of polymorphisms obtained by comparison of RefSeq Contig sequences and screened sequences
BLAT search	BLAT Genome search provides the position on a human genome and JSNP's variations related to your query sequence.

Entering JSNP Search

Follow the hyperlink in the left-hand column labeled "pageJSNP Search Guide" to go to the JSNP Search top page.
To access the search window directly, click the each hyperlink listed in the "Search JSNP" box.

To use "Keyword Search", select the search field from the pull-down menu at the middle of the left-hand column and enter the query in the box below and then press "Search".

To use "Integrated Map Browser", select and press the appropriate chromosome number. (See "Search Tag SNP Ex")
